This year was FKMS' biggest Holiday Shopping Extravaganza yet! The firm raised almost $4,000, which it then matched, to purchase toys for needy local children. A week before Christmas, staff members volunteered their time to shop for over 700 toys and gifts. These items were then delivered by a rented UHaul to the Brentwood office, where they were set up in the offices as three "departments," babies (0-2), little kids (3-6) and big kids (7-12). The firm sponsored 46 families, including 129 children, through Pronto of Long Island. Staff redecorated the Brentwood office to display the gifts, as three groups of parents visited throughout the morning to "shop" for items for their children.

2012

The staff of FKMS partnered with PRONTO of Long Island for the 2011 holiday season, coordinating a toy drive and shopping experience that brought Christmas to 35 needy families. Early in December, the firm sent its team to purchase over 600 toys and gifts for children, from infants to teenagers. They then brought them back to FKMS’ main office in Hauppauge and arranged the items like a retail store so that parents registered with PRONTO could come and “shop” for gifts for their families.

When the day arrived for the 35 families to come, they were welcomed to the “store” with food and music. Parents selected appropriate gifts and FKMS staff individually wrapped each one. Six bicycles were raffled off as well. At the end of the day, each family was blessed to bring home 5 items for each of their children!

2011

In 2009 and 2010, the firm assisted with PRONTO’s toy drive. FKMS purchased toys and gifts and staff added to the collection before bring the shipment to PRONTO’s headquarters in Bay Shore. There, FKMS staff volunteered their time to organize the toys so that PRONTO’s families could select gifts for their children.

2010

Pronto of Long Island is a nonprofit community outreach center which provides basic human services with care and compassion to the homeless, unemployed, immigrants, uninsured and anyone in need.
